What Does it All Mean?

In a rapidly changing world, we must remember that we should be changing ourselves by staying educated, sharpening our saw, shaping the change in our respective environments and helping to bring about a better tomorrow in the midst of all the change. In light of that, I thought this video presentation shows perfectly the need we have to change with the changing times.

Having now seen that, let us remember to adapt to the changing world but never to change our principles, our values and those things that should help shape the change for a better tomorrow.

Fantastic video. I can definitely add my voice to that. I graduated only 1 year ago with a degree in Communication.

In my 4 years of courses only 2 class contributed to skills that I am using in my job. I've stayed in contact with the teacher of those courses and he had no idea about the things I was learning a week into my first job after college and has never heard of the things that I am doing now.

A year ago I visited several top communication related firms in New York City and all of them said, "Go home and learn about the internet." How are we supposed to innovate and be competitive when we are not even preparing our students for the industry standard?

Bryan,

I would agree with you. It seems like school does an excellent job of helping you get in the door but a terrible job of preparing you for what you will find inside.

Something needs to change.
